Hello and thanks for stopping by!
I'm a New York based actor, clown, filmmaker, and screenwriter/playwright. After graduating with a BFA in Acting at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, I've worked in New York in Off and Off-Off Broadway productions, as well as around the country in film, regional theater, national tours, and clown shows.
Inspiration and influence for the kind of work I enjoy range from the theater to the cinema: Bill Irwin, Robin Williams, John Ritter, Mark Rylance, Tom Hanks, Paul Rudd, Meryl Streep, Michael Stuhlbarg, Johnny Depp, Eddie Izzard, and Joaquin Pheonix.
As a physical comedian, Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin have played a vital role for me and have been the base for much of my work, not only as an actor, but also as a playwright.
Although my goal as an artist has always been to embrace the range in character types I portray on both the stage and screen, a colleague put it best by saying I tend to always play "the outsider", whether comedically or dramatically. I quite like that and will gladly use it here!

New York Times: "A routine that... enables Mr Droxler to display his considerable comic mime skills and suggest the shy, love-struck postures of, say, Charlie Chaplin. Mr Droxler grows more interesting when... his charm morphs into powerful if all too brief glints of menace and tragic suffering."
Backstage: "Dave Droxler displays impressive mime technique and clowning craft, channeling Chaplin and Keaton as he mimes the precious territory between making us laugh and breaking our hearts"
Huffington Post: "Droxler and (Molly) O'Neill evoke great chemistry on stage and imbue their roles with an aching tenderness"
New York Theatre: "[Dave Droxler] is a powerhouse of physical comedy during the lengthy play-within-a-play, pulls our heartstrings with his delicate love of Dea, terrifies us with his rage against the amoral Josiana and ultimately shows us a human truth we might otherwise turn away from."
